Paola Sasso El Chal. The charismatic Mexican radio host and presenter Paola Sasso is experiencing the greatest moment of her professional career in the United States.

In an exclusive interview with Alonso Bañuelas for MundoNow, the host opened her heart to talk about the overwhelming success of her show “El Chal,” the difficult challenges she faced after migrating, and the inspiring miracle story surrounding her mother.

Direct, an advocate for justice, and known for her unique sense of humor, the Mexican presenter proves why she is one of the most influential and beloved voices in today’s Hispanic entertainment industry.

With a strong career that includes her notable participation in the radio show “ El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo ,” Paola Sasso accepted the challenge of leading her own independent platform.

The result exceeded all previous expectations from the production team. With clear excitement and pride, the presenter shared the commercial impact generated by her new digital project: “We broke the record as the most successful podcast that TelevisaUnivision has ever had throughout its history.”

The concept of the show was born from the desire to connect in an intimate, transparent, and deeply Mexican way with the Hispanic community. According to Sasso, the final name of the show came from a creative impulse at home.

“I was at home and I said: ‘I want to change it to something Mexican, something about talking, about everything.’ And suddenly I came up with El Chal,” she explained. “People like the chal because it’s very much a Mexican-style conversation, honestly. Having a comfortable chat, like you’re with family.”

During the conversation, the communicator remembered an anecdote that took place at Plaza de las Estrellas in Mexico City, a moment when she predicted her future in the U.S. market even though she did not yet have a structured plan or a formal job offer.

After receiving her award, she was asked about her next professional steps, and her answer came immediately. “But it just came out of nowhere, it was just talk. I’m going to the United States. I didn’t even know, and here I am. That’s how powerful words are… we have to be very careful with what we ask for in life,” she reflected.

Despite the confidence she projects, adapting to the American lifestyle represented a true financial and logistical challenge for the marketing expert. Sasso described the limitations she experienced after arriving in the country without an established credit history.

“It was really difficult… I was already in the United States and suddenly I couldn’t rent an apartment, they wouldn’t give me a phone, I had no way to get around, they wouldn’t rent me a car, they wouldn’t accept my cards from Mexico, so I had nothing,” she confessed about her beginnings.

Beyond professional obstacles, the presenter explained that the most emotional chapter of her life is connected to her mother’s health, who previously faced a severe medical diagnosis.

“One of the hardest things in my life is not necessarily professional. It’s my mother’s illness… my mom had cancer. My mom had cancer. And the cancer kept getting worse. My mom had metastasis. They told my mom she was going to die… and my mom is alive. My mom is a miracle,” she shared emotionally.

This experience created an unbreakable bond, making her mother her center and her greatest source of guidance. As a woman in a highly competitive media industry, the journalist emphasized that her strategy for eliminating gender stereotypes is based on excellence, punctuality, and daily professional discipline.

“I think the most important thing, and what silences people, is results: preparing yourself, being smarter, being more responsible, more formal, more punctual, more professional, and more prepared,” she stated firmly.
